1. Scope
These Terms of Service apply to licences for the Macro Deck Companion app for Android and iOS (app.macrodeck.companion), provided by Macro Deck, Owner Manuel Mayer (see theImprint). They cover the Companion app licence only and do not change the licence of Macro Deck itself.
2. The Companion Licence
The Companion app licence is a one-time in-app purchase through Google Play or the App Store. After the purchase, the app is unlocked on the device it was bought on.
The licence can be transferred to a Macro Deck installation. The installation keeps the licence and passes it on to every Companion device that connects to it, so your other phones and tablets are unlocked as well.
3. Your Own Installations Only
You may transfer the licence only to your own Macro Deck installations. It is not permitted to pass a Macro Deck Companion app licence on to someone else, in particular to:
- transfer it to a Macro Deck installation that belongs to another person,
- share, sell, give away or publish the licence or the licence token, or
- otherwise make it available to third parties.
Before the app transfers the licence to a Macro Deck installation, it asks you and shows the identity of that installation, so you can check that it is one of your own.
4. Revocation
A licence that has been passed on in breach of section 3 can be revoked. A revoked licence stops working on every Macro Deck installation and every Companion device it reached. Revocation is permanent.
The purchase itself remains: the device the licence was bought on stays unlocked through its purchase in Google Play or the App Store. No new licence is issued for that purchase, so it can no longer be transferred to Macro Deck installations.
5. Purchases and Refunds
Payment, refunds and restoring purchases are handled by Google (Google Play) or Apple (App Store) under their own terms. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
When a purchase is refunded, its licence is revoked on every Macro Deck installation and Companion device it reached. If you buy the licence again, or the store reverses the refund, a new licence is issued.
